Hi Inja & Jason and wonderful volunteers,
I want to thank you all for making this event happen. It all started with the vision we had during one of our first meetings at Starbucks as we exchanged cell phone numbers around the table. We all worked very hard to make this event happen, and I'm so glad it's finally happening. Although I won't be there to see it because I am going to be at business leadership conference in Atlanta on Friday, I know it will be a big success.
This is our first major event and I'm very proud of all we've done. I remember how hard we worked trying to get sponsorships. Kelvin and I walking into almost every store at Eaton Centre and then calling up the contacts we got. I met with Randi who helped me make the perfect sponsorship proposals for several companies. Inja dared to take up the responsibility of this huge event and then worked so hard to pull it off despite her laptop problems and the fact our site was down for 3-4 weeks. All those meetings we had almost every week were organized by her. Everything we're doing was coordinated by her. Jason's enthusiasm for this club is boundless and it was clear he should be the one to help Inja out when things grew too overwhelming. I was touched by Sham's dedication when he drove all the way from Scarborough one day so he, Inja, and I could meet a promoter at Joe's one Friday night. Where we waited like hours for the guy to show up. And I didn't even get to use my free drink vouchers. Glenn's commitment to fashion and this club is scary. He's always there to help out when we need a hand and can organize socials like an event planner. Lisa's awesome shark like brain ( Vfashion. haha.) and wonderfully positive and inspired mentality is much appreciated by us all. We always called you dependable behind your back. Trying to get us Bader Theatre was not a easy task, but you really came through with organizing the dancers. Thank you Clara, Stephanie, Ki(You are the best driver), G, Jenelle (for the wicked promo), Phil and Lydia (you guys came out of no where to pull us through), and Stan my good friend who is always here to support me and my club. Thank you.
Now we have 2 important guests coming on Friday. One is the marketing director, Michael Emery, from UT Bookstore, and the other is Simon Leung, a sponsorship coordinator for Roger's Wireless. Let's impress the sweat out of them and see how far we can take it next year! By the way, elections for President positions are coming up in March and all of you are in wonderful positions to run because of the dedication you've shown. (Executive and VP positions are not available because presidents pick their own officers.)
Have fun and enjoy!!
